MIDNIGHT STROLL is a programmatic piece written for horn quartet. It explores the feelings one might feel while walking during the dark of the night. Starting with a low solo horn, it opens solemnly yet assertively. Depression, anguish, melancholy, and even hope are expressed throughout the piece, ending with a clear, resolute statement. As each emotion is explored, corresponding musical elements such as suspensions, chords, and dynamics are used, bringing the work to life.
